The Acolyte is still a way's out from being a priority for Star Wars fans, but it could lay the groundwork for the franchise's future on TV when it drops on Disney+ in 2024.Qui-Gon's subsequent death and Obi-Wan's approach to training Anakin only inflamed a bad situation. If a bulk of the shots have been finished for the first four episodes, then the dark side show could be coming as soon as February, taking several months out of the normal post timeframe. Worst case, The Acolyte will be ready to go by this time next year. Though she wasn't specific, it's possible that visual effects for the series are already far along on half of the series. During a tell-all discussion at Celebration, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said she was " blown away" by the series' first four episodes. Post-production generally takes a year to complete following the conclusion of principal photography, but there's evidence that The Acolyte is ahead of the game. When specifically it will begin streaming on Disney+ is now the question mark. How Headland was able to oversee the completion of filming ( if she did) is unknown, but the series won't have any issues with achieving its 2024 release slate now that post is in ILM's hands. With Andor season 2 shutting down and The Mandalorian season 4's production delayed due to the writer's strike, a similar fate was assumed for The Acolyte.
